Twilight

Ok so I finally went and saw Twilight. My favorite series of books ever. I went in not expecting much, because I know that books are always better. The place was full of girls. Mike is such a trooper to take me!! When the movie started all the girls started screaming and saying Edward I love you!!! Ridiculous stuff like that, I was laughing so hard. So what did I think of the movie?? It was ok. Just ok. The problem was that it looked super cheesy. I think that the majority of the book is just something that you cannot portray on screen without looking cheesy. You can only imagine it. And I just didn't like Edward. He is way to odd looking to be super hot perfect man Edward. But the love story was beautifully portrayed, and the scenery in the movie was beautiful. Every Twilight fan should see it, but just don't expect much. It just proves how great the books are that you cannot come close to doing them justice.

Arts and Crafts

So since Carter has stopped going to daycare I've felt bad that he hasn't been doing all the fun activities that he got to do there. A few days ago at my mom's house we were looking at all the funny and cheesy crafts we'd made in school that my mom had kept for all these years. That inspired me to get going on some fun crafts with Carter. Those of you who know me well know that I am probably the most not-creative person ever. So I decided to make turkeys with mine and Carter's hands, and put them up on the fridge. He really loved coloring his hands, and I think that he felt pretty proud that his hand helped make a turkey. Of course he made one for his baby sister. Afterward, I was explaining to him what Thanksgiving was. I told him we would eat turkey and pie and mashed potatoes, he said he "can't like that", which is his response to everything right now. So then I explained to him that we say thanks for our house and our food and our family. His response to that was "I say thanks spiderman for shooting the naughty guy and for Monster House and my toys". It was so funny. I think he's getting the idea!

Grandma Beth

Today Mike's Grandma Beth passed away. She was the sweetest lady and so loving. I am happy that she got to see Kendall before she left. We will miss her. Love you Grandma Beth!

Halloween

Last year on Halloween Carter was asleep at about 5:00, so this was really his first year getting the whole experience. We started out carving our pumpkins. Carter would not touch the inside of the pumpkin because it was "messy". He is so weird about getting messy. Afterward Carter helped me make sugar cookies. He put the sprinkles on them, or as he calls them "Nerds". Later that night we went to my parents house and had chili, scones and homemade rootbeer and took Carter trick-or-treating. He was shy at first, but he loved getting all the candy. Afterward we went to Mike's mom's house so Carter could see Ty, they are best friends. Carter dressed up as Batman and was so excited to finally wear his costume. He has been talking about it since like early September. Kendall dressed up as a fairy, Alyssa and I made her costume. Kendall is in a Halloween costume contest at 971zht.com entry #157 so you can vote for her.

It's official....

We now have a blog. I'll probably be horrible at keeping this updated, but I think it is fun to read other people's blogs so I figured we should start one. More to come :)
